When I was hired by Colorful Concepts Painting a little over a year and a half ago I knew what I came to do. The smell of the paint makes me happy and the site of a new build gets me excited. I can't imagine not being part of the process in the field. It is my happy place. But more than painting, I love painters. I love their talents, their work ethic and their attitudes. I have facilitated building environments over the years on the job where every single person looked forward to coming to work. We had a BLAST EVERY DAY. Since my first day with this company, my goal has been to create the kind of environment that makes coming to a job a lot less like work and a lot more like fun.

As the field supervisor, I get to be around what I love: painters and painting. However, my goal is developing that same environment that myself and many others have thrived in over the years. And that is an environment that is all about you!

Colorful Concepts Painting is not a building or a company or even a service. It is our staff who makes us who we are. Every day that I go to work I think about what I can do to help promote YOU. The stronger you are, the stronger all of us are and that is the true essence of teamwork. 

​

I am always working to make sure you know I have your back and you can count on that. I am always going to default to loyalty to my staff. Loyalty breeds loyalty and I understand you get back what you give in life. So I strive every day to give respect, loyalty and assistance to every person here. When that is returned in kind, that is our sweet spot. That is what I want to continue to do and that can only happen with YOU. 

I'm not looking to climb any ladders but I am looking to move every one of my staff up another rung. When we get another smart, hardworking person on our staff, I can not stop talking about them (ask anyone!). Whether they are a laborer or a highly skilled journeyman, it doesn't matter. What matters is that they love being here. They feel a sense of responsibility to the team and want to make the next person stronger. They show up to work hard, have integrity and want to be part of a superior team. Only be each onus having that common goal can this be achieved and we might as well have a good time while we do it, right?

That is why it is all about YOU! Your success means I did my job. And that is what makes my job rewarding!

A job gets you a paycheck anywhere. My goal is for every person on our team to get excited when they pull up to a new build or an old remodel. To know they can count on being respected, valued and heard. To know that I will do everything I can to help you succeed. To know that success is not a paycheck. Success is loving the job that gives you a paycheck.

That was always and will continue to be my first and most important goal in the field. My goal is all about YOU. I promise to help you in any way I can. My phone is always on. My mind is always open. Leadership is not about being the boss. It is being the best teammate you have.

I will continue to do my best and I invite everyone on my staff and anyone looking to be a part of our team to do their best to be that person too. I want us to have a good time every single day. We have a job to do and the more we enjoy doing it, the more successful we will be.
