It's women in construction week and we're celebrating all women this month - especially those in the construction industry!
Women in Construction Week is a time to highlight all the great initiatives and work of women within the industry! It’s a time where we can appreciate the women who have taken the bold step to enter the construction industry and encourage those who are considering making the same commitment!
We’ve shared the statistics before (data collected from NAWIC). Although they haven’t changed much, we are still proud of how our contributions are helping pave the way for future women interested in joining this great industry!
Women represented 57% of the overall workforce in 2022 and only 10.9% of construction workers.
Women make up just 10.9% of the construction workforce. There is only one woman for every 100 employees int he field not he front lines of a job site.
There are an estimated 556,000 painters in the US. Roughly 9% of them are women.
In Minnesota, there are roughly 3,800 painters (US Bureau of Labor Statistics State Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates). In Minnesota, that accounts for less than 1% of the workforce.
Here's where our efforts shine:
Women make up 34.6% of our employees.
66% of our office staff are women.
Women represent 50% of our leadership team.
50% of our project management team are women.
26% of our field team are women.
I am really proud of us and what we do to make sure we keep the door open for women in the construction industry! - Lynn Boerger, President
There is so much progress being made as women continue to build their presence in the industry, and there is still a lot of room for improvement! Being a part of the 13% of construction-related companies that are owned by women, we're excited to continue leading the way towards improvement.
