Let’s Talk Color!

The Top Color Trends of 2019

Spring is finally here! As this #TrueToTheFinish team wraps up the CMBA Home Show and forecasts the rest of 2019, we figured it was a better time than ever to talk color! 2019 has taken a more mindful, lifestyle-based approach to the development of new shades. The connection between consumers’ home lives and the daily demands carried much influence over the top picks.

From warm clay to a calming gray, if you’re looking to kickstart your home or office refresh by indulging in new hues, here is the 2019’s top color trends:

  • Say hello to Living Coral (16-1546):

Pantones highly-anticipated color of the year pick is brighter and bolder than ever. Living coral is a shade of orange with a golden undertone, the color falls on the warmer end of the spectrum compared to last years pick, Ultra Violet.

  • Welcoming Metropolitan (AF-690):

Benjamin Moore selected this calming, neutral gray hue for their top pick of the year. Metropolitan pairs well with neutrals, frothy pinks and rich blues and greens.

  • Sticking with Bluepring (S470-5):

Behr chose this mid-tone blue whose hue provides a steady stream of positivity and is poised to be an instant classic for years to come.

  • Forecasting warmer walls with Cavern Clay (SW 7701):

Sherwin-Williams chose this strong ‘70’s vibe, earthy terracotta color because it embodies renewal, simplicity and free-spirited, bohemian flair.
